Vigilantes en Buffy

1X01 Welcome to the Hellmouth
En este episodio se nos presenta Giles como vigilante de la cazadora Buffy Summers. Giles permanece con Buffy durante toda la serie, a excepción de algunos episodios de la sexta y séptima temporadas.

1X05 Never Kill a Boy on the First Date
Giles informa a Buffy de su filiación (padre y abuela vigilantes del Consejo) y de que fue informado de su deber a la edad de diez años

2X08 The Dark Age
Giles informa de su pasado oscuro, cuando abandona sus estudios en Oxford y donde podemos suponer que temporalmente se mantuvo alejado del Consejo de vigilantes para adentrarse en otro tipo de cosas junto a Ethan Rayne.

3X07 Revelations
Llega a Sunnydale Gwendolyn Post, que se presenta como vigilante para Faith, aunque no es verdad, ha sido expulsada del Consejo y persigue sus propios fines (malvados)

3X12 Helpless
Quentin Travers y un grupo del Consejo de Vigilantes llegan a Sunnydale con intención de hacer pasar a Buffy la prueba de sus 18 años. Giles es despedido del Consejo de Vigilantes.

3X14 Bad Girls
Llega a Sunnydale Wesley Whyndam-Price, que se presenta como nuevo Vigilante de Buffy y de Faith enviado por el consejo para sustituir a Giles.

3X22 Graduation Day part I
Wesley informa de que el Consejo no va a ayudarles a salvar a Angel del veneno inoculado por Faith: no quieren ayudar a un vampiro, tenga o no tenga alma. Buffy por su parte se declara en rebeldía: dice que no recibirá más órdenes del consejo.

4X16 Who Are You
Tres vigilantes llegan a Sunnydale para secuestrar a faith al precio que sea. Se da la situación de que se llevan a Buffy en el cuerpo de Faith, pero nuestra cazadora logra escapar. Este grupo de asalto seguirá a Faith (la verdadera) hasta Los Angeles.

4X22 Restless
(Escena onírica) Giles informa de que está entrenando a Spike como Vigilante, y de que es como un hijo para él. Spike aparece vestido con traje de chaqueta muy similarmente a como aparecerá en la sexta, cuando crea ser "Randy Giles"

5X12 Checkpoint
Quentin Travers regresa a Sunnydale con intención de evaluar a la cazadora y sus métodos antes de compartir información sobre Glory. Entre sus acompañantes se encuentra Lydia Chalmers.
Giles es readmitido en el consejo de vigilantes.

6X08 Tabula rasa
Aparición "real" de Randy Giles, que rápidamente se autodefine como hijo de Giles. Curiosamente éste acepta la paternidad enseguida.

7X08 Sleeper
El Vigilante Robson, atacado por Portadores, es atendido por Giles en su casa de Inglaterra, han matado a su potencial. La escena termina cuando alguien ataca a Giles.

7X09 Never Leave Me
Vemos la sede del Consejo de Vigilantes, exterior e interior, con Quentin Travers y otros vigilantes. El edificio vuela por los aires a causa de una bomba colocada por orden del Primero.

Vigilantes en Angel

1X10 Parting Gifts
Wesley Wyndam-Price aparece en Los Angeles e informa de que a causa de que Buffy dejara de obedecer al Consejo él fue expulsado del mismo. Se queda con Angel y Cordelia y comienza a trabajar con ellos.

1X19 Sanctuary
El grupo de malencarados Vigilantes que perdigue a Faith llega a L.A. y contactan con Wes para que la venda, le ofrecen readmitirlo en el Consejo. Wes no acepta el trato y defiende a la Cazadora junto a Angel en la lucha consiguiente.

4X22 Home
Wes es presentado a Sirk, al que enseguida reconoce como ex-miembro del Consejo de Vigilantes. Es el encargado de mostrarle la sección de documentación, libros, etc de Wolfram y Hart.

5X07 Lineage
Llega a Wolfram y Hart nada menos que el padre de Wesley, Mr. Wyndam Price Sr. Entre otras sorpresas, trae una nueva oferta del consejo de Vigilantes para su hijo.

5X08 Destiny
Donde descubrimos que Sirk es malo. Bien, no es que fuera extraño, quiero decir que descubrimos que ha traicionado a Angel metiendo partes falsas en la profecía ShanShu.

Willow: But why were you called here?
Faith: Well, I wasn't. My Watcher went off to some retreat thing in England, and so I skipped out. I figured this was my chance to meet the infamous Buff and compare notes. So, B, did you really use a rocket launcher one time?
3X03 Faith, Hope & Trick

Giles: The test is done. We're finished.
Quentin: Not quite. She passed. You didn't. (faces him) The Slayer is not the only one who must perform in this situation. I've recommended to the Council, and they've agreed, that you be relieved of your duties as Watcher immediately. You're fired.
Giles: On what grounds?
Quentin: Your affection for your charge has rendered you incapable of clear and impartial judgment. You have a father's love for the child, and that is useless to the cause. It would be best if you had no further contact with the Slayer.
3X12 Helpless

Giles: Did you reach the Council?
Wesley: Yes. They, they couldn't help.
Buffy: Couldn't?
Wesley: Wouldn't. It's not Council policy to cure vampires.
Giles: Did you explain that these were special circumstances?
Wesley: Not under any circumstances, and yes, I did try to convince them.
Buffy: Try again.
Wesley: Buffy, they're very firm. We're talking about laws that have existed longer than civilization.
3X21 Graduation Part I

Wesley: The Council's orders are to concentrate on ...
Buffy: Orders? I don't think I'm gonna be taking any more orders. Not from you, not from them.
Wesley: You can't turn your back on the Council.
Buffy: They're in England. I don't think they can tell which way my back is facing. Wesley: Giles, talk to her.
Giles: I've nothing to say right now.
Buffy: Wesley, go back to your Council and tell them, until the next Slayer comes along, they can close up shop. I'm not working for them anymore.
3X21 Graduation Part I

Giles: I'm gonna feel like hell in the morning.
Ethan: Relax. Enjoy the night. We're just a couple of sorcerers. The night is still our time. Time of magic.
Giles: To magic.
4X12 A New Man

Buffy: You have to find Faith. Call Giles! J-just get him here!
Collins: Giles doesn't work for the Council anymore. For that matter, neither does Buffy Summers. And what you are, miss, is the package. I deliver the package. I don't much care what's inside. (to Weatherby) Come on.
(Weatherby watches him walk away then turns to Buffy.)
Weatherby: He may not care, but I do. The Watcher's Council used to mean something. You perverted it. You trash. We should have killed you while you were asleep.

Spike: You know, for someone who's got Watcher on his resume, you might want to cast an eye to the front door every now and again.

Spike: With a smile and a nod from you? Sorry. Not close to good enough. This deal's with the Slayer.
Giles: I'll tell her.
Spike: Oh, you'll tell her! Great comfort that. What makes you think she'll listen to you?

Giles: I'm her Watcher.
Spike: I think you're neglecting the past-tense there, Rupert. Besides, she barely listened to you when you were in charge. I've seen the way she treats you.

Spike: Giles here is gonna teach me to be a Watcher. Says I got the stuff.
Giles: Spike's like a son to me.

Collins: The Council is willing to reinstate you - return you to your rightful position as Watcher. That was a nasty business back in Sunnydale, but nobody blames you.
Wesley: Really? Because I rather got the impression they did when they sacked me.
1X19 Sanctuary

Wesley: There are stories at the Watcher's Academy of a test. A secret gauntlet which only the most cunning can survive. You're locked in a house with a vicious, deadly vampire, and you have to kill him before he kills you. It's been done in the past with slayers.
Fred: Slayer? The band?
Wesley: No, it...The point is... this could be a test...the weapons, the maze-like locale, the innocent civilians, and the mysterious Karathmama...nyuhg demon. This is a test!
4X06 Spin The Bottle

Wesley: Impressive. And does the Watcher's Council know you stole the only known copy of the codex when you left?
Sirk: There is no Council.
Wesley: Not anymore, no. So you opted to, what, uh, play for the other side? Cross the line?
Sirk: These are complicated times. Lines become blurry. How did you know?
Wesley: Something about Watchers and...(punches Sirk, knocking him out) libraries.

Wesley: Are you saying the Council wants me to come back?
Roger: Not necessarily. Your name's proven to be a point of contention. There is some who believe that your tenure as watcher ranks as our most embarrassing failure.
Wesley: Really? I beat out everybody dying in an explosion as most embarrassing failure.
Roger: Friends and colleagues lost their lives in that event, Wesley. A little respect.
Wesley: Sorry.
5X07 Lineage

Wesley: The first lesson a watcher learns is to separate truth from illusion. Because in the world of magics, it's the hardest thing to do. The truth is that Fred is gone. To pretend anything else would be a lie. And since I don't actually intend to die tonight, I won't accept a lie.
